We went by overnight train to Achnasheen then hitched a ride from a local carrier for our equipment and bivouac tents to the coast.
It seemed to rain for the whole fortnight I remember. One day we were on the shore opposite Gruinard Island which had been an Anthrax research
place during the war and was still out of bounds, with a few sheep visible, grazing there. I have just read on Wikipedia that it was only declared
safe and sold back to the original owners in 1990.
